Aaron Collins
Aaron Collins impressed at Bristol Rovers last season as the Gas won promotion to League One. In League Two last season the striker scored 16 goals in 36 starts for Bristol Rovers, where he played alongside Luke Thomas who was on loan at Rovers from Barnsley.
Collins can play as a striker as well as attacking midfield.
Collins works hard out of possession and works hard to press the opponent. He is also frequently described as 'Dynamic and Intelligent' The striker is particularly strong at through balls, long shots, passing, ball retention, and creating big chances for his team. Collins' pace means he is effective on the counterattack and also likes to dribble.
George Hirst
Hirst is a 23-year-old striker who currently plays for Leicester City and is likely available on loan this season. Hirst spent last season on loan at Portsmouth in League One, he scored 13 times in his 40 games for Pompey, stating 27 times last season.
George Hirst likes to dribble and play short passes in the build-up play. He's strong at ariel duels (standing at 6ft2in tall) and finishing.
Hirst will likely be available on a loan so could be a cheaper and shorter term option for Barnsley however, we may face competition from other League One clubs to loan Hirst with Portsmouth one club reportedly interested.
Aaron Drinan
Aaron Drinan is a 24-year-old Irish striker who plays for Leyton Orient in League Two. Drinan scored 13 goals and assisted 6 goals in 40 goals. Hirst played 7 goals for Ireland u21s in 2019.
Drinan is a threat on the counter attack, likes to play short passes and is also a threat from indirect set pieces. Drinan is strong at finishing and likes to take long shots.
Alfie May
The link with Michael Duff has combined with Barnsley’s need for a new goalscorer to make May A player greatly wanted by many Barnsley fans. May scored 23 goals for Michael Duff's Cheltenham at League One level and shined last season. He was the 3rd highest goal scorer in League One last season.

Matt Stevens
The final striker Barnsley could sign is Matt Stevens. Stevens played 37 games last season and scored 23 goals before he suffered an ACL injury in April. Stevens played a vital part in Forest Green's title winning side last season. Stevens won't be fit by the start of the season.
Stevens is an incredibly clinical as shown by his Goals per Shot on target rate of 0.51, the highest in League Two last season. He's an indirect set piece threat and is strong at through balls, ball retention and heading.
