3 young players Barnsley should bring in on loan to hugely strengthen

KAINE KESLER-HAYDEN - ASTON VILLA

Callum Brittain's departure has left Barnsley thin in the RWB position. We are left with an injury-prone Jordan Williams and Will Hondermarck (whose primary position is CM) to play the RWB role, which is a vital part of Michael Duff's system. The tykes could add Kaine Kesler-Hayden to their squad to add quality to the position.

Kesler-Hayden is a 19-year-old wing-back who plays for Aston Villa and will likely be available to loan.

Kesler-Hayden spent the first half of last season on loan at Swindon Town in League Two, he was awarded Swindon's young player of the season award despite only playing until January. He featured in Swindon Town's defeat to Man City in the FA Cup and gained praise for his performance against the Premier League champions. At Swindon, Kaine played RWB in a 3-1-4-2, very similar to Duff's 3-5-2.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at MK Dons in League One, playing 17 times in a Dons side that made it to the League One play-offs. Kesler-Hayden played as a wing-back for MK Dons again in a similar formation to Michael Duff's favoured 3-5-2 formation.

Hayden is strong at the offensive aspects needed for a wing-back, being strong at passing, dribbling and playing attacking through balls. He also likes to shoot from distance, blocks shots, tackle and has a significant defensive contribution, a well-rounded wing-back.

CHARLIE WEBSTER - CHELSEA

Chelsea's academy has generated some amazing players throughout the years such as John Terry, Mason Mount and Brad Collins, Barnsley's current goalkeeper. Chelsea have a great pool of up-and-coming talent reading to be loaned out and one of those players is Charlie Webster.

He hasn't yet made an appearance for Chelsea's first team but was named on the bench against Brentford in the EFL Cup quarter-final. He has trained with the first team on multiple occasions and is highly rated by the Chelsea first teamers.

Webster is an attacking midfielder and could add a much need goal threat to Michael Duff's side. He can take free kicks and will add attacking flair to this Barnsley side.

The 18-year-old has played for England at U16, U18 and U19 levels and made a total of 15 appearances for England across all age groups.

He has shown promise at academy level but Chelsea will want to loan him out to give him the experience of professional football.

LEWIS DOBBIN - EVERTON

Lewis Dobbin is a 19-year-old striker who plays for Everton.

Everton manager Frank Lampard has said that he is keen to send Dobbin on loan, speaking to The Athletic he said "Everyone is different. For someone like Lewis Dobbin, let’s see him play proper football on loan somewhere"

He played 5 times for Everton's first team last season, 3 in the Premier League and 2 in the cup. He has previously played in the u18 Premier League where he played a total of 31 games scoring 14 goals and assisting 11 times, that's 25 G+A in 31 games equating to 0.81 G+A per game. He also played 20 games in Premier League 2 (u23s) scoring 6 goals and assisted twice. He has played for England at U16, U17 and U19 level, playing a total of 20 games and scored a total of 8 goals for the Three Lions.

He is very skillful and pacey aswell as having very clever attacking movement. He is incredibly clinical in front of the goal.

He was named Everton's u18 player of the year in 2019/20 after he scored 11 goals in 16 games.
